Charcoal | Tower | Lightness: new work by three Evanston artists
Alice George’s Science Fiction series includes nine large works on paper inspired by sci-fi; she is also showing Speculative Architecture (20+ smaller paintings on paper riffing off collaborator David Rubman’s wood sculptures). David Rubman’s Towers is a city is constructed from local trees, chiseled to evoke bygone New York, or perhaps a future world. Jeanine Coupe Ryding uses woodcut printmaking and painting to focus on nature and our perceptions of light and depth in these 2 dimensional media.
Opening Reception October 13, with light refreshments and libations.
Artists’ Talk on Saturday, November 4, at noon.
