Safe/Unsafe Places
(grades 5-12)
In class we read and discuss adult and student poems which vividly describe special places, particularly in terms of safety/danger. We practice using sensory details and emotional references to evoke a place, and share examples from our real lives of places that feel very safe and protected, or that feel dangerous. Then we write!
